Risk reduction in breeding

This page is a slow work in progress, and articles for each topic will be added slowly over time. If any of the above are not reachable, please feel free to reach out and I'm happy to share my current knowledge on the topic.

While Finnish Lapphunds overall are a fairly healthy breed of dog, they are living, breathing animals and of course problems can occur as with any animal.

It is our role as preservation breeders to make breeding choices that lowers the risk of these diseases and issues occurring, which is done through scientific and pedigree pattern research, social connection, transparency and health screening.
