Arctos, named after the Greek term "Arktos" meaning "Bear of the North," bears a resemblance more akin to a hyena. With the widest vocal range you've ever encountered, he effortlessly transitions from hyena-like laughs to bear-like roars and even mimics the piercing sound of an air raid siren. However, beneath this symphony of sounds, Arctos is the epitome of a gentle giant—a massive love bug who adores nothing more than cuddling up to his loved ones. We call him hyena, sirendog, the big stupid, the Sharky, Barky, Schmarky, Arky. Bear boy. Doofus. The names for him don't end.

Arctos possesses a remarkable willingness to please and a naturally sweet nature. His harmonious nature extends to his interactions with the entire pack and any new dogs he gets to know, demonstrating remarkable compatibility even with the occasionally grumpy Demo at his worst. I would dare say there isn't one mean bone in his body. While he occasionally struggles with impulse control and can become overwhelmed, his inherent biddability allows for easier management of such situations.

This smokey-looking black and tan boy is the product of our foundation girl Raizu and his accomplished dad Lumi, who has made significant strides in the world of dog sports in Australia with his lovely owner Bianca. Arctos, in particular, has developed a deep affinity for tracking and scent work, showcasing his natural talents in these domains. Although he primarily resides with Mitch in Queensland, he joyfully makes occasional visits down to Sydney to share his infectious energy and bring happiness to all those around him.
