The Arctics are Here!
I cannot thank Lumi's owners enough for allowing this breeding. Lumi is Bianca and Clive Ralph's (Polarpaws) and Jacqualine Lincoln's (Armahani) boy from her last litter with Emmi. Together they all went above and beyond to make this litter a reality, and we could not be more happy with these little two gorgeous munchkins.
This is our first litter here at Tundrai, and boy has it been an adventure(!), with our foundation girl, Raizu taking the reins.
It is a combination that we had long considered and were very excited about. We have loved Lumi's lines for years, with his mother Emmi being one of the first lapphunds we ever saw a photo of and one of the few dogs that made us fall in love with the breed at first sight, and his uncle Lumiturpa Eemeli being one of our favourites. We kept a close eye on his litter with the introduction of Ressi, a powerful strong male that had much success in performance in Finland.
Although I had only met Lumi once myself, I had spent a lot of time with and puppy sat his sister and niece for a few weeks, both of whom I love the temperaments of. He's a very accomplished sports dog and I have heard that he was also fairly mischievous as a puppy, although he's now quite the gentleman. He has had two previous litters, one for Varulv kennels and another for Caleebra. I have met many of his progeny and am overall extremely pleased with them.
Structurally I felt that he succeeded where Raizu needed improvement, and with the aim of improved structure and workability and after much thought and research, I felt that the two would produce well together. And boy so far have they delivered!
After not the easiest birth, requiring a caesarean section and losing two of our long awaited puppies shortly after birth while we were still at the vets (rest in peace our two little boys), we have two healthy and gorgeous puppies, a girl and a boy. They have grown into quite the stunning little babies and we are so excited to see what their future beholds for both of them.
